From 1901 to 1907 the Boston Red Sox had no official nickname. They were just "Boston" or "Bostonians" or "Boston Americans" as in the "American Leaguers" (because Boston had another major league at the time, with the Boston Braves of the National League). Newspapers would refer to them as the "Pilgrims," "Someresets," or "Collinsites." It wasn't until 1908 that the team adopted the official nickname "Red Sox." And with that came the first appearance of the Red Sox with this single red stocking carrying the "Boston" wordmark, first worn on jerseys in 1908.
Celebrate the history of the Red Sox with this vintage-inspired wool cap, featuring a relaxed crown, flexible short brim, and satin green undervisor, it doesn't get more classic than this.
