2006 Regular Season, Week 6
Monday Night Comeback
Chicago vs. Arizona
24 - 23
October 16, 2006
University of Phoenix Stadium, Phoenix, AZ
It was the game that proved "the Bears were who we thought they were!" While Hester has many impressive punt returns, including one for 92 yards in the 2007 Super Bowl, this one versus Arizona was key to the victory, and the win was key to the Bears momentum towards the postseason. The game in and of itself was very memorable and NFL Network ranks it #6 in best comebacks of all time.
1986 Super Bowl XX
The Fridge's Touchdown
Chicago vs. New England
46 - 10
January 26, 1986
Louisiana Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
The 1985 season was a magical year for Chicago. A season where they won 15 regular season games, recorded 2 postseason shutouts, and led the league in many defensive categories. The Super Bowl versus New England was a rout where Chicago recorded records including most sacks (7), fewest rushing yards allowed (also 7), and margin of victory (36). But perhaps the most memorable play was William Perry's rushing for what would be Chicago's last touchdown of the game.
1977 Regular Season, Week 9
Miracle Finish
Chicago vs. Kansas City
28 - 27
November 13, 1977
Soldier Field, Chicago, IL
Walter Payton is one of the greatest running backs of all time. In a career spanning 13 years with Chicago, Payton carried 3,838 times for 16,726 and 110 touchdowns. It's hard to pick just one great run, but this one against Kansas City made people, including Jim Brown, really take notice. Watch the video, it's unbelievable how he breaks 7 tackles, literally running through some defenders, before being brought down at the 4 yard line.
1965 Regular Season, Week 13
Sayers 6 TD game
Chicago vs. San Francisco
61 - 20
December 12, 1965
Wrigley Field, Chicago, IL
In his rookie year Gale Sayers showed Chicago fans that he had the makings of a legend. Against San Francisco, in front of 46,278 Chicago fans on a muddy Wrigley Field in December, Sayers tied an NFL record with 6 touchdowns. It's hard to choose the best one as they include an 80 yard pass, a 21 yard rush and an 86 yd punt return. But we'll go with his longest rush of the game, a 50 yd touchdown.
