In the Stanley Cup Finals once again but instead of a 4 game sweep, this series went all the way to Game 7. When Sakic scored the 3rd goal making it 3-0, Colorado fans knew that the odds were heavily in their favor. Colorado earned their 2nd and Bourque finally had his cup as well. A joyful affair.

We all know about the hit - the birth of a rivalry. Colorado and Detroit will always have a deep hatred and bitterness between the two and the roots can be traced back to Game 6 of the 1996 Conf. Finals and "the hit." Colorado won the series and marched into the Finals for their first appearance.

This series was full of close ones with 4 of 6 games going into overtime. Along with this, the series featured an iconic moment between Roenick and Roy. Colorado won in overtime in Game 6 to capture the series and continue their playoff run.
