The Story: In 1956 big-time baseball arrived in Vancouver. That's not to say the game wasn't being played here prior – there's a few great local stories to be told, like the rise of the Japanese-Canadian Asahi ball club, or Babe Ruth playing at old Athletic Park. But before 1956 baseball in Vancouver was all semi-pro. The Mounties, part of the Pacific Coast League, were a step above. In the Mounties Vancouverites got a taste of what real ballplayers could do. The played at Capilano Stadium, now called Nat Bailey Stadium, on Nat Bailey Stadium – one of the prettiest minor league parks around.

The Design: At first glance corduroy and mesh might seem like an unlikely duo—but its precisely the contrast of these two textures that make this hat so beautiful and unique. The corduroy front panel and brim give this cap a nice weight, while the breezy mesh balances it out, making it the perfect hat from Summer to Fall. The Mounties logo is expertly embroidered on the front, and the contrasting red fabric stripes give a nice pop against the navy and ivory. The hat features a medium height crown—sort of midway between our archive "dad hat" and Valin "trucker hat"—perfect to let you stand a little bit taller!
