Perhaps the most iconic home run for Boston, and one of the most iconic plays in baseball, was Carlton Fisk waving in his game-winning home run in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. In a game that stretched to 12 innings, Carlton Fisk finally prevailed at 12:34am to send the series to 7. Fisk took the 2nd pitch of of pitcher Pat Darcy off the left field foul pole for the walk-off home run.

The 1967 season came down to the final game with three teams battling for the AL pennant and the right to play in the World Series. Boston would ride the bat of HoF'er Carl Yastrzemski as he went 4-4 with two RBI's to victory. Yaz cemented his legendary status this year winning the MVP and AL Triple Crown

In a year where Clemens won the AL MVP, AL Cy Young, and All Star MVP, perhaps his most memorable accomplishment was setting an MLB record of 20 strikeouts in a game. He fanned Phil Bradley on three pitches for the 20th strikeout.

After a rough start and the firing of a manager, Joe Morgan took over at the break and led Boston through a great second half of the season. Helped by a 24 home game win streak, one of the longest in MLB history, Boston surged from 9 gb to leading the division by 4.5 games only 60 days after Morgan's hiring.
