The California Golden Seals (originally the Oakland Seals) were part of the 6 "Class of 67" teams that marked the first league expansion since the Original Six Era began in 1942. The six new kids on the block were the Philadelphia Flyers, L.A. Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota North Stars, and St. Louis Blues. Though the Seals had the least success of all the expansion teams (they would move to Cleveland and then merge with the North Stars to become the Dallas Stars) they had an iconic and well defined aesthetic that no other NHL team had. They will forever be remembered for their signature green and yellow with white skates.
